Types of Data We Collect
We collect both “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information.” Non-Personal Information cannot be used for purposes of personal identification, such as usage data, demographic information, user selected preferences, and preferences generated by the Company based on collected user data. “Personal Information” means data allowing someone to identify or contact the user, including, for example, names, handles, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, social handles, as well as any other non-public information linked to the foregoing data or user account.
Information Provided to Us
Personal Information: including, but not limited to, name, email address, bio, handle, and account password.
Information Stored on Account: including, but not limited to, betting history, team preferences, contemplated bets, answers to surveys, tickets, and communications with the Company’s support team.
Device information: including but not limited to, information provided by user’s browser or software application, type of device, type of browser.
Location information: including, but not limited to, where the user is physically located or the users IP address and when said IP addresses accessed or otherwise interacted with the Company’s Site or Services.
We may collect and/or track the above information using third party analytics services or through the use of cookies or small text files which include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies may be sent to the user’s browser from our servers and are stored on the user’s hard drive.
Use of Personal Information
We may use your Personal Information in the following ways: including, but not limited to, facilitating the creation of and secure your Account on our network; identifying you as a user in our system; providing improved administration of our Services; providing the Services you request; improving the quality of experience when you interact with our Services; sending you a welcome email to verify ownership of the email address provided when your Account was created; sending you administrative email notifications, such as security or support and maintenance advisories; sending requested notifications through our Services, including our mobile application and web browser, pertaining to member activities, your interests, and your user experience; responding to your inquiries related to employment opportunities or other requests; performing Service functions requiring reference to data, sending newsletters, surveys, offers, and other promotional materials related to our Services and for other marketing purposes including those of third parties, and performing marketing or data analysis.
SMS Marketing
We value your privacy and the information you consent to share in relation to Outlier’s SMS marketing service. We use this information to send you text notifications related to your subscription, text marketing offers, and transactional texts, including requests for reviews or feedback from us. Opt-in data and consent for text messaging will not be shared with any third parties except for messaging partners, for the purpose of enabling and operating our text messaging program.
Use of Non-Personal Information
We use Non-Personal Information for the primary purposes of operating, improving, and customizing the Services, including the user’s experience. The Company may also use non-personal information to improve its marketing and website functionality. The Company reserves the right to disclose Non-Personal Information.
Links to Third Party Websites
As part of the Service, we may provide links to or compatibility with other websites or applications. We are not responsible for any third-party’s use of personal or non-personal information, however obtained.
Your Rights Regarding the Use of Your Personal Information
You have the right at any time to prevent us from contacting you for marketing purposes via the instructions included in such communications.
Security of Your Personal Information
Your account is protected by your account password. Keep your password safe. We cannot guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or otherwise destroyed by the breach or destruction of our (licensed or otherwise) firewalls, servers, facilities, software programs, physical assets, user accounts, whether physical, electronic, computational, or otherwise. We are not responsible for a third party’s purposeful or accidental disclosure of Personal Information if such third party is either unaffiliated with the Company or otherwise not under the Company’s control. We cannot guarantee absolute security. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.
Deleting your personal information
We take great care to protect your privacy, but we understand if you’d like us to delete your personal information. To request deleting your account and all associated data, you must do one of the following:
- Login to the Outlier mobile or web application using the account you want deleted, open the profile screen in the top-right corner, tap “More” and then “Request to delete my account” and submit the request after prompted. OR
- Send us an email at [email protected] using the email associated with the account you want deleted and the subject line “Delete My Account.”
We then will proceed to delete your personal information.
Google API Services Usage Disclosure
The Company’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to change this policy and our Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of significant changes to our Privacy Policy by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account, by placing a prominent notice on our site, or by otherwise reasonably notifying our users. Significant changes will go into effect 30 days following such notification. Non-material changes or clarifications will take effect immediately. Users should periodically and routinely familiarize themselves with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, including reading our policies for any additions, omissions, and changes.
